1
Low Force Adjustments
As opposed to traditional chiropractic adjustment techniques, the use of the Arthrostim® does not produce the popping and cracking noises in the joint that can make some people feel uneasy. It is a gentle, mechanical method of guiding the joints back into proper motion and alignment.
We can adjust the force of the thrust from just a few ounces to up to 40 pounds, applying the right amount of pressure needed. This tool is effective on a wide range of body areas, not just the spine.
The instrument performs a high-velocity, low-amplitude motion 12-14 times per second. This works through the joint and surrounding tissues, releasing trigger points that are often the source of muscle spasms. By dividing the energy of a single thrust into rapid, successive inputs, the Arthrostim® Instrument precisely controls the force applied, making treatment both comfortable and effective.
Several studies have shown that instrument adjusting is just as effective as traditional chiropractic techniques for relieving pain and increasing range of motion. Its speed, gentleness, and accuracy also make it ideal for populations who may struggle with traditional chiropractic techniques, such as children and the elderly.

Spinal Adjustments and Joint Mobilization
A chiropractic adjustment is the art of applying the proper amount of force in a precise direction to a joint that is not moving properly, gently restoring motion in your spine to its correct position. The goal is to improve overall health and spinal function by using this natural procedure to eliminate interference with the nervous system. Adjustments are extremely safe and almost always pain-free. Different methods are used to manipulate the spine, and factors such as age, health, and physical build help determine the most effective technique for each individual.
All of our doctors use a variety of techniques, including:

-
Thompson Drop
-
Cox Flexion-Distraction
-
Activator/Arthrostim
-
Lower Extremity Adjusting

Upper Extremity Adjusting

Graston Technique
Graston is one of the most innovative treatments for musculoskeletal dysfunctions and is used by many professional sports teams. The technique focuses on eliminating scar tissue or adhesions (muscle knots) in problem areas that disrupt the normal function of muscles and other connective tissues.
When a problem occurs, the healing process lays down scar tissue to quickly stabilize the area. Scar tissue is fibrotic and less flexible than healthy muscle tissue, limiting range of motion and, in many cases, causing pain that prevents the patient from functioning as they did before.
The Graston Technique is a unique form of instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization designed to reduce and reorganize fibrotic restrictions (scar tissue). We often use this technique in conjunction with chiropractic adjustments to help fully repair the affected area.

Flexion Distraction
This technique requires a special chiropractic table that can separate in the middle and flex at different angles.
The Flexion-Distraction Technique is a gentle, non-force chiropractic approach to adjusting the spine, offering the following benefits for patients with back or extremity pain:
-
Increases the space between vertebrae
-
Decreases disc pressure to help with disc herniation problems
-
Increases the openings for nerves to relieve pinched nerves
-
Improves range of motion in the back and extremities

Intersegmental Traction
Most patients find this therapy to be very relaxing and beneficial. Rollers slowly travel the length of the spine, stretching spinal joints and increasing mobility. This helps restore necessary elasticity and motion to the spine while also improving the circulation of spinal fluids.
